Legacy ACFT guide
The Army Combat Fitness Test was the six-event Army fitness test used before the Army Fitness Test became the current test of record. This page keeps the legacy ACFT calculator available for users who still need six-event scoring.
ACFT events
Legacy ACFT scoring uses six events worth up to 100 points each. Select age and sex in the calculator above, then enter each raw performance to calculate the event score.
Lift the maximum weight possible for three repetitions using the hex bar. The event measures lower-body and grip strength.
Throw a 10-pound medicine ball backward for distance. This was the sixth event removed from the current AFT.
Complete hand-release push-ups with correct form. The event measures upper-body muscular endurance.
Complete sprint, sled drag, lateral, kettlebell carry, and final sprint shuttles for time.
Hold a proper plank position for time. The plank replaced the leg tuck in the legacy ACFT scoring tables used here.
Run two miles for time. This event measures aerobic endurance and remains part of the current AFT.
Scoring rules
Each ACFT event is scored from 0 to 100 points. The calculator adds the six event scores for a maximum total of 600, then checks whether every event meets the 60-point minimum.
Six events can each contribute up to 100 points, creating a maximum legacy ACFT score of 600.
A total score alone is not enough. Each event must meet the 60-point event minimum.
The legacy passing rule used here requires at least 360 total points and no event below 60.
Current vs legacy
The current AFT uses five scored events and removes the Standing Power Throw from the scored test. If you need today's Army PT score, use the current AFT calculator. If you need older six-event ACFT scoring, stay on this page.
